Efficiency Vermont Offers Free Appliance Upgrades

from Tom Ward Member, Thetford Energy Committee

If your electricity bills are high compared to your household income, you may be eligible for free appliance upgrades through Efficiency Vermont.  Funding for this program is limited.  Qualified Vermonters will receive this service on a first-come, first-served basis.  Depending on the systems in your home, Efficiency Vermont can provide free replacement of older appliances such as refrigerators, wood and pellet stoves, freezer, and clothes washers at no cost to you, with no strings attached.  They will also replace outdated lighting with free Energy Star LEDs and may even install a heat pump heating and cooling system if you use electricity to heat your home or water. This is a free service provided by Efficiency Vermont for income-eligible Vermonters.  Over 16,000 Vermonters have already taken advantage of this offer and lowered their electric bills, some by 50% or more.
